The Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability (BCOP) test method is an in-vitro test method that can be used, under certain circumstances and with specific limitations for eye hazard classification and labeling of substances. The purpose of this Test Guideline is to describe the procedures used to evaluate the potential ocular corrosivity of a test substance as measured by its ability to induce opacity and increased permeability in an isolated bovine cornea.
